I have seem them around at various retailers. I think the biggest hurdle is finding the make of tyre you want on special. ie some times it is only Continental that is 4 for 3 or another brand etc, but the one you want isn't.
These deals seem to always be around. If it's not one brand it will be another, usually one of the better ones. I think it's a scam to get you to buy more tyres than you really need, because most times two of the tyres on your car are still good for another 6mths to a year and they lure you in with the whole 'for only the cost of one more tyre you can have ALL NEW ONES'. It's a waste of perfectly good tyres to replace those which do not need replacing. Buy two at a time, you'll save yourself and the environment more in the long run.

It can be convenient for people to drive in and get a 'bargain' and all your tyre problems solved in one visit. But often the price is adjusted so that the inflated price of three is the normal price of four. And that deal often does not apply to expensive or performance brands.
But if you have 2 dead and 2 good tyres on your car, but want to take advantage of the deal, why not buy 2 rims for your car from a wrecker, and tell the tyre change guy to do the bald two on the front, and the bald two in the boot? Then park the new tyres and rims in your garden shed until you really need them.Always handy to have extra spare wheels, in case you get a spate of flats.
Yea they usually do it once or twice a year. Usually at the same time the next year. If you are on good terms with the tyre shop, they usually know when its coming up (maybe they see stocks sky rocket??)
Bridgestone is just as premium as Pirell or Continental. Regardless of whether it's Michelin, or Pirelli. or Bridgestone, or Continental, tyres made in SE Asia are usually much cheaper than tyres made in Japan or Europe.
I have only seen Pirelli or Continental offer this special on their SE Asian made budget lines, that is Dragon Sport by Pirelli, and ContiMaxContact. Thankfully RE003 and Pilot Sport 4 have SE Asia manufacture, and they are more or less on par with the Bridgestone and MIchelin flagship tyres respectively.
I only needed two when I took up that deal I posted above I had the two loose tyres fitted 28Dec'17 back at bobjane, they looked me up on their PC noticed I bought 4 fitted 2 and said 'so you want those last 2 fitted?!? bring it in it'll be free with balanced/ new valve ect.' so for that I asked when I got there for an alignment which was $60 for their good will.
I did this with bridgestone recently and got range up in tyres than what i would normally and depending what buy comes with a great warranty and followup free service and checks. well worth taking advantage off :)
So probably just before the winter rains set it I'll call the tyre place to let them know I'm coming in to get the tyres fitted. The fitting is already paid for. This way I get the tyres I want at the right price that I'd be very unlikely to get when the tyres actually need replacing
I prefer the 25% off sales...;)They are on all the time if only people looked ;-) Google is free to use.Recently needed a set of good tyres and knew the brand & type I wanted... prices varied from $330 down to $255 which was their everyday advertised price. Local dealer too :-)25.641% difference !!
Am I living in Sydney or am I living somewhere that's worth the drive to Sydney? Then I go over to tempetyres always. If there is no price listed then I call them up and a few others. The others I have called up so far tend to have prices that make my eyes pop out of my eye sockets. They can't be beat on price but they don't take bookings at all.
Otherwise if I am too far away from tempetyres I look at Bridgestone, Continental, Goodyear, Kumho, Michelin, Pirelli, Yokohama and so on and hope they have a 4 for 3 or a good $$$ or % off or some other deal for summer UHP tyres only.
Costco do not do wheel alignments last time I asked and when I buy refrigerated goods I need to be out of there ASAP.I also have to wait for them to place a special order for 19 inch tyres. Costco is fine for a Toyota Camry or some normie SUV or someone ready to be upsold on nitrogen gas.
yes same as you guys got the Bridgestone offers earlier this year end up less than $450 for 4 tyres including fitting and all my tyres need to be replaced at that point so it all worked out for me
So if you pay $136.25 each with fitting and balancing for four tyres it comes to $545, if you pay $175 each for three tyres it comes to $525, and they can charge you the difference in fitting and balancing for the free tyre.
Yeah in hindsight my decision that $100 was not enough of a discount was pretty stupid lol I waited till August and my service manager told me the tyres are too thin to be road legal. So I had to get tyres sans the $100 discount.
i feel like im getting a good deal. so i walk away happy. also at least im not buying no name brand tyres. do you know that bob jane wont road test your car. all they do is set it up too makers specs. bad luck if if drives or pulls to one side they cant fix it. stopped using them ages a go for this very reason. car was undrivable after the fitted 4 new tyres on it. ended up taking to another mob . guy said the wheels were set back too far. was like driving a shopping trolley . i kid you not
Michelin don't do 4 for 3 deals, they haven't for the tyres I buy (ps4 /primacy) been happening since 2014 when I started paying attention to such things. Not to say they wouldn't on some other models or change promotions but they don't seem to.
But it is a good way for a tyre shop to convince you to buy a set of 4, even though in reality you may only need 2.Very rare to wear out all 4 tyres at the same time, unless you rotate front to back regularly.
Feel free to compare the prices during the promotion (now) to after the promotion. You'll find the tyres still retailing for the same per tyre price after this 4-for-3 offer concludes. If anything the prices will increase afterwards due to inflation!
You to have to click through a bit to find the price (tyre size, location, select a store etc) but the prices are not hidden. The prices on the official Bridgestone website are generally very similar to Bob Jane and others who also carry these Bridgestone tyre models (and are also carrying the offer). It's a little easier to find prices on the Bob Jane website.
I tend to take wheels in a pair at a time in the boot of another car.I don't trust a workshop that uses a rattle gun to do wheel nuts up, ended up having to replace two warped front discs after trusting a tyre shop to do it right. Some cars are prone to warping discs if the wheel nuts are over-torqued or torqued up to different torque.
